September: #26 CARING
Young person cares about others. They place a high value on helping other people. He/she thinks about ways of helping others and is motivated to initiate kind and thoughtful acts. They might demonstrate this asset by being particularly welcoming to new students as the school year begins.

October: #35 RESISTANCE SKILLS
Young person is able to recognize risky or dangerous situations and makes positive choices when faced with challenging events in their life. They are able to resist peer pressure.
November: #22 SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT
Young person is actively engaged in educational activities inside and/or outside of school. They take learning a step further and by their actions and enthusiasm serve as a role model to others.
December: #20 TIME AT HOME
Young person spends time most days in high quality interactions with family. They may share the importance of family experiences and relationships in the school setting.
January: #32 PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING
Young person knows how to plan ahead and make choices. They are pro-active about getting started, and they follow through to the end. If working in a group, he/she helps the group achieve its goals.
February: #40 POSITIVE VIEW OF PERSONAL FUTURE
Young person is optimistic about his or her own future and strives to reach his/her goals. They have hopes, dreams, enthusiasm and plans. He/she demonstrates strong efforts to achieve their goals, whatever they might be.
March: #9 SERVICE TO OTHERS
Young person values service to others, in their family, school or community. He/she commits to meaningful and caring actions.
April: #25 READING FOR PLEASURE
Young person reads for pleasure most days of the week, either alone, with family members or with friends.
May: #31 RESTRAINT
Young person can identify, regulate, and control his/her behaviors and emotions in healthy ways, particularly in stressful or unstructured situations.
