FUN & GAMES with WORLD LANGUAGES
Experience foreign languages in a total immersion environment through fun and interactive games! This after school parent run initiative is being offered on Friday afternoons 3:30-4:30pm in four separate eight week long sessions.
The first session starts on Oct. 2nd. We have currently 68 students enrolled (Spanish only, all classes are full) and expect this program to grow even more during the winter months! Sign-ups will begin for the next session at the end of October. If there is interest in any other languages not offered at this point - please let us know!
This program is not set up as an HSA Committee for mostly organizational reasons in that we don’t require funding or fundraising through the HSA. That being said, this highly interactive, centers based program can only exist with the continuous assistance of many parent volunteers - so we appreciate being able to communicate through this supportive group!
The mid to long term goal of this PineRun Parent Iniative is that all students will have access to an early introduction to foreign languages. Hopefully these are the humble beginnings of something larger and more meaningful. We are also hoping to reach out to ESL students as it might serve as an international tool to welcome their Non-English speaking families into our community.
