40 ASSETS - Boomerang Youth Recognition Award
The Boomerang Youth Recognition Award recognizes Central Bucks School District students monthly who best represent one of the 40 Developmental Assets® and is a partnership between CB Cares, Outback Steakhouse in Jamison and the Bucks County Herald. Research from the Search Institute has identified 40 positive experiences and qualities that have a powerful, impact on young people. Children and teenagers who have high levels of these assets get involved in fewer risky behaviors and are more likely to grow up healthy, caring and responsible.
Selected monthly assets are chosen for the entire school year and can be found on this website. Nomination forms can also be found on this website in addition to the main office of our school - most often next to the Boomerang Award ballot box. Each school has a coordinator* who will review the monthly nominations and submit one student who best represents the asset of the month. All nominations submitted will be reviewed by a group of community judges.

A district-wide recipient of the award will be chosen, one at the elementary level, one from the middle schools, and one from the high schools. These 3 district winners will receive a certificate of recognition, a gift certificate from Outback Steakhouse, a photo in the Bucks County Herald, an invitation to an end-of-the-year luncheon at Outback, and their name will be engraved on a plaque in the Outback restaurant in Jamison. All nominees for this Award will receive a gift from CB Cares. Each year, a total of approximately 1,000 elementary, middle, and high school students are nominated and recognized for their Assets!
Anyone can nominate a student for the Boomerang Youth Recognition Award! In addition to school staff, students can nominate themselves or other students, parents can nominate their child, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, or any community member can come in to a school to nominate a deserving individual.
All nominations must go through to Mrs Loh, Pine Run's designated 40 Assetts coordinator and must be submitted by the 3rd Monday of the month.
