COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

Take a look at the many opportunities there are to become involved at Pine Run!  Below are descriptions of each of the many Comittees that are currently active in the HSA.  Find a position or effort that you would like to be involved with and contact any Executive Board member to get started.

Book Fairs (Fall and Spring)

Book Swap Coordinator:  In order to promote reading, the Pine Run Home & School Association organizes a Book Swap of gently used children’s books of all reading levels. Each child who participates in this voluntary book swap by bringing in one or more books may then choose up to a maximum of three books.  After the books are collected, the Coordinator and helpers sort the book according to reading level.  They then assist the students when choosing books on the day of the Swap.  The extra books are then packed up and donated to various local organizations.

Box Tops for Education Coordinator:  Box Tops is a wonderful fundraising program for Pine Run.  Another passive fundraiser where our HSA receives money from General Mills by collecting and submitting the Box Tops labels found on hundreds of General Mills products.  Each year Pine Run has increased their earnings through the Box Tops for Education Program as students and families become more familiar and aware of the program.  Students participate in collection drives throughout the school year. Their efforts have been rewarded with a popcorn party the past two years and also with items purchased through HSA for their benefit!
Committee Members help organize the Box Top Collection Drives.  They also sort, count and submit the Box Tops to General Mills for processing.  Most of the work can be done at home so this is a great opportunity for someone who has a few hours to contribute throughout the school year.

eScrip Coordinator:  This position consists of informing parents of the benefits of enrolling their Genuardi's Club Card thru eScrip reward program. This program gives money to our school as a percentage of what parents who have registered spend.  At the beginning of the year informational flyers are given out to remind parents to enroll, or to give new parents an opportunity to do so.  Through out the year the coordinator will submit reminders to the Pine Run News to keep everyone informed of any change or updates about enrolling their Genuardi's card in the eScrip program.  Most work can be done from home at the computer.
